On Monday, for the holiday we went up to San Francisco. We thought we would explore the Golden Gate National Recreational Area. We couldn't believe all of the old army bases and forts. The kids had a blast finding all of the bunkers all over the hills.
View of the bridge on the Sausalito side
Battery Wallace
After that, we decided to take a different way back and went by the coastal road. We came up over a knoll, and saw this view

You can see how thick the fog was. When you are down in it, you wouldn't know there was a big old' bridge right there.
Such love..but be careful girls. Let's not get silly right by a cliff! It was a little scary at this part because the cars are coming around the corner of the mountain and there is no fence where there is a dropoff. And Kimmy started to get a little silly right about then. Good times!
We had a lot of fun being together yesterday and seeing all of the beautiful things. We then went down into the city for some clam chowder in a bread bowl. Yummy! My favorite! San Francisco is a neat city to see and visit, but after leaving last night, we are both glad that we live in a suburban. So crazy!

Wow, what a fun vacation day! Those pictures are absolutely gorgeous! We didn't see all those fun sites when we were there for our honeymoon - we stayed more in the city and did the whole redwood forest thing so that was fun to see. Oh, and did I mention the pictures are gorgeous?!? :o)
You have a cute little family, Kristen. And I'm jealous of your no-coat day! Looks like fun. My kids scare the bajeebers out of me too whenever there are cliffs and bridges! =)
Those pictures are beautiful! All that fog with the red bridge... I bet it was even more spectacular in real life. What a great way to spend the holiday! (And the talk of chowder made me crave some... yum!)
Glad that you all had a wonderful time....where are your babies????All the children have grown since we have last seen them.
So fun! I can see how the kids had a blast exploring all over. The pictures of the bridge in the fog are especially beautiful!
