For the next couple of days, we spent it in Washington D.C., our nations' capital.
The first day we took the tour bus around the city and saw all of the monuments in the National Mall, plus Arlington National Cemetery and Pentagon.

The next day we went to 3 of the Smithsonian Museums: The Natural History, The American History, and The Air and Space Museum

The next day, we had the rare opportunity to go inside of the White House.
We made it to Mount Vernon, George Washington's home

The kiddos got to meet and talk with Martha Washington; Mr. President was not present as he had duties to attend to.
Our last night on our vacation, we went to Annapolis MD. Always one of our favorite places to visit
Before our flight, we decided to tour Fort McHenry where, during the War of 1812, the Star Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key
We had such a wonderful time seeing all of the amazing and beautiful sights. We love the history of America, and after seeing these beautiful places and being in the same buildings as our Founding Fathers were, we hope this will be a trip our kids will never forget.

Wow! What a fun trip!! I bet Jordan LOVED the Air & Space Smithsonian. How neat that you were able to go inside the White House!
What an amazing trip! And what a great thing for your kids to see and feel patriotism. I've been thinking of you a lot lately. Miss you all!
