Megan and Kimmy had a Little House Birthday with a few of their friends. We did it before their actual birthdays because we will be in Cali during that time celebrating with family. The girls had so much fun and we all had a great time. It was super fun to plan! I LOVE Laura Ingalls and her beloved stories; it brings back joyful childhood memories and makes me feel happy to read her books. So when Kimmy came up with the idea, I was thrilled to do it!
The girls first came and decorated their shopping bag for the country mercantile store.
Jordan's Country Mercantile Store
Everyone was given a bag of pennies and they had to "go to town" to the mercantile store and buy their items. Some of items were bags of kettle corn, licorice, peppermint, pretzels, bags of "Indian beads", bonnets, and caramels. They LOVED this activity!
We split the girls up according to Megan's or Kimmy's friends,
and the older girls went shopping first.

The younger girls went to wash some doll clothes on a washboard. Another VERY fun activity!
And then hung them up on the clothesline to dry

After those activities, the girls all came in and made their Indian bead necklaces, just like Laurie and Mary did a long time ago.

"Happy Birthday to you" and make a wish
Such a fun and wonderful birthday! It was super fun learning how to make homemade strawberry jelly (that the girls took home) and prairie bonnets for the girls.
